Sobrie-Tee — Every Shirt Has a Story
Purpose-built apparel

Every shirt is one person's story.
Every story funds the next one.

Sobrie-Tee designs are made by people in recovery, printed in limited runs, and numbered like the days they represent. A share of every sale goes straight back into someone else's recovery.

THE JAMES — RUN NO. 042

"I got clean the fourth time I tried. This shirt is the version of me that didn't give up on the first three."
— James, designer, 4 years sober
How it works

From someone's lowest point to a shirt on your back.

The process only works in this order. Skip a step and it's just merch.

01

A designer shares their story

Someone in recovery works with us to turn a real turning point into a design, in their own words and their own art.

02

We print a numbered run

Every shirt in the run is printed once, on demand, and numbered. When the run sells out, that design is retired.

03

You wear a number, not a slogan

Your shirt says who made it and why. It starts conversations that recovery is usually asked to stay quiet about.

04

Proceeds fund the next person

A share of every sale goes to recovery support: sober housing, transportation, treatment gaps insurance won't cover.

Current runs

Four stories. Four limited runs.

Each design is available only while its run lasts. Photography below is placeholder, standing in for a real portrait and product shoot of each designer.

Stacey, designer of The Stacey
Staceydesigner, run no. 118

The Stacey

232 of 350 left

Stacey lost custody of her kids before she got sober. Her design is about rebuilding from the ground up, not pretending the ground never gave way.

Marcus, designer of The Marcus
Marcusdesigner, run no. 401

The Marcus

Sold out — waitlist open

Marcus, a veteran, became dependent on opioids after a service injury. Hiking became the thing that replaced the thing, and his design carries that trail.

Elena, designer of The Elena
Elenadesigner, run no. 067

The Elena

233 of 300 left

Elena's dependency started with a prescription after childbirth. She's now a peer recovery coach for new mothers going through the same thing.

Our mission

Recovery merch usually hides the story. We put it on the front.

Most sobriety apparel sells a slogan to people who are already sober. Sobrie-Tee pays the person who lived it, and funds the person who's still in it. Photos below are placeholders for real coverage of that work.

Your story could be the next run.

We're looking for people in recovery who want to turn their story into a design, and get paid and credited for it, not just quoted in a caption.

  • 01 Tell us your story and what you want the design to say
  • 02 We work with you on the artwork, no design experience needed
  • 03 You're credited by name and paid per shirt sold in your run
